ICCSIR is engaged in seaweed cultivation activity. It is the first time in India where land base cultivation is attempted. Currently, ICCSIR pilot scale land base cultivation of kappaphycus sp., Gracilaria sp. And Ulva sp. is going on. Technology intervention on land base as well sea cultivation will be developed by ICCSIR that can be implemented by fisherman and coastal farmer community as a part of extra income source for their livelihood improvement.
